Dinner

My hubby called me at work to say he was heading home early. He asked my thoughts about dinner! I told him we had chicken, orange & green bell peppers, onions as well rice. He so sweetly said he would cook! When I got home...

I let him sleep until dinner was ready!

The Desk

My Monday was busy! I work for a community newspaper and I love it! We had calls to take/make and emails to answer, getting ready for the October issue! The company is woman owned and run! I am thankful to work for a great company! I have a nice desk with an appropriate chair...which brings me to a cute photo sent to me today! My daughter is teaching Adlie the basics like alphabet, numbers, writing, etc. In the photo Adlie is adorable (of course), then I noticed the desk! It looked a little small.

Jordan noticed too and moved her to a more comfortable desk! Let the learning to begin!

Church & Burlap

Church...included a moving video of a real life success story for a teen mom! Our church has a class for Moms of Preschoolers, Keisha attended this class beginning two years ago when she was a junior in high school and a new mom! She is now attending college at TWU with her adorable son! Her hard work and the love of some special women, Keisha said,'I can live my dream!' Could I have been so strong? Way to go Keisha and God bless you!

Burlap...I have wanted a burlap tablecloth for quite sometime so I made one! Bought burlap fabric, cut it to the size I wanted then sealed the edges with Fray Check! Done! With the scraps of burlap & Super Glue Gel, glued a strip of burlap around a candle! Easy breezy!

The Wall

Ever think about painting a wall with chalkboard paint? I decided a chalkboard on a kitchen wall was a great way for friends & family to express themselves! Words of wisdom, cute drawings and grocery lists are a few items posted on 'The Wall'!

KeeKee and Adlie

Keltus, Kelly and KeeKee

All three is me! My parents named me Kelly, however my grandfather called me Keltus John and now my granddaughter calls me KeeKee! I love all three names, each special and endearing!

Names, they can mean a lot right? When I was in kindergarten, I was one of two Kelly's! The other was a boy...at the time I was furious that my mom and dad named me a boy's name!

From the time I can remember, I was Kelly and Keltus John! My grandfather (real name Matthew Dawson...nickname MD) was famous for his nicknames he would give friends and family! He called my mother, Boris (real name Doris) and my father (his son) was Edderd (real name Edward)! His brothers called him 'fatboy'! My son was fortunate to know my grandfather before he died. He called Justin, 'toughy'!  My grandfather was a sweet man with routines that I watched with amazement! He would hand feed his dog, he listened to the Astro's every game on the radio in the kitchen and he watched TV on his knees leaned on an ottoman!

Now, I am older...a grandmother called KeeKee by the sweetest child ever! Adlie is three years old! She has me wrapped around all her fingers! There is nothing I would not do for her and I am the weakest link in the family! Adlie is smart, but all grandmothers say that right? No really, she is!

Most of my friends call me Keltus! I love my names! I am fortunate to be all three!
