Positive or not to be...that is the question!

Positive! My father's way of teaching was in quotes! Most of his quotes were encouraging as well as thought provoking. Several quotes were funny and really playful not actually to be followed through such as, 'go play in the freeway' when I was getting on his nerves! Or when I would wish for more toys or more clothes, he would say, 'crap in one hand and wish in the other, see which one fills up faster.'

If I would envy someone, he would tell me, 'they put their pants on just like you, one leg at a time!' When I would go into long stories about how my friend made me mad, he used this one, ''you have the same clothes to get mad in that you do to get glad in!' I would ponder this quote over and over trying to understand...then it hit me! It is my choice how I react! I was allowing myself to get mad or to get upset! It was like a light came on in my life, do not allow others to dictate my outlook, it is MY choice.

From that point on when faced with stressful situations, my dad's quote always comes to mind. I look at life with a positive view or positive thinking and to him I am grateful! Thanks dad!

Quote from the Mayo Clinic: Positive thinking doesn't mean that you keep your head in the sand and ignore life's less pleasant situations. Positive thinking just means that you approach the unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way. You think the best is going to happen, not the worst.

I think I have begun a new chapter in my life, one I said I would never do...have routines! But dang it, I have routines! Four mornings a week, I wake up early (6:15 am), jump out of bed, dress for a morning walk and actually WALK! Then I come home, drink coffee on my back porch before getting ready for work. I kinda like it! I guess as I am getting older, I see the benefits of routines!

Do you see the moon in the picture? That is seriously early for me!

Cutest Girl

Adlie went to the beach!
And hopefully begins a love for the beach!
Is there a more beautiful place?
No...I do not believe so!
